A 20×30 site (600 sq ft) is Bangalore’s compact-budget workhorse. With only 600 sq ft per floor, Vastu planning is about protecting the three or four placements that matter most — and refusing the mistakes that are expensive to undo. Here is the zone-wise guide for 20×30 house plans as per Vastu.
Priorities on a Compact Site
On a 20×30 floor plate you cannot give every function its perfect zone. Vastu planning therefore follows a hierarchy: 1) keep the north-east light and unblocked, 2) kitchen in the south-east (or north-west as fallback), 3) master bedroom in the south-west, 4) toilets out of the north-east and centre. Everything else is negotiable.
20×30 East Facing House Plan as per Vastu
| Element | Recommended Placement |
|---|---|
| Main door | East, north-of-centre padas |
| Living | East / north-east front |
| Kitchen | South-east (fallback: north-west) |
| Bedroom | South-west rear |
| Toilet | North-west or west |
| Stairs (G+1) | South or west edge |
| Pooja | North-east wall niche |
20×30 South Facing House Plan as per Vastu
South facing 20×30 plans work well with the entrance placed towards the south-east portion of the south face. Keep the rear (north) as open and ventilated as the plan allows, place the kitchen in the south-east, the bedroom in the south-west, and toilets in the west or north-west. Avoid a toilet or septic tank in the north-east corner of the plot — the most common compact-site defect we correct.
20×30 West Facing House Plan as per Vastu
For a west facing 20×30 site, use the auspicious west padas for the entrance, push living space to the north-east of the plan, kitchen in the south-east and the bedroom block along the south-west. A first-floor plan can place children’s rooms in the north-west.
600 sq ft, 2 Bedrooms: Can It Be Vastu Compliant?
A 600 sq ft 2-bedroom Indian Vastu plan is achievable on G+1: living, kitchen and one bath on the ground floor; two bedrooms and a bath above. The master bedroom takes the south-west of the upper floor, and toilets stack in the west or north-west — never above the pooja or kitchen fire zone.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a 20×30 site too small for Vastu planning?
No. Compact sites benefit the most from Vastu planning, because there is no spare space to absorb mistakes. Protecting four key placements — north-east openness, south-east kitchen, south-west bedroom, toilet zones — delivers most of the result.
Where should the staircase go in a 20×30 house plan?
Along the south or west edge, never through the centre. On compact plans a straight-run stair on the southern wall is usually the cleanest Vastu solution.
Which facing 20×30 site should I buy?
Buy for locality, road width and legal clarity first — every facing can be planned Vastu-correct. If choosing between equals, east and north facings simplify entrance placement.
Can you review a 20×30 plan online?
Yes. Send your architect’s drawing or even a hand sketch with a compass reading — our online consultation annotates the plan zone by zone before you build.
